The purpose of this site is to provide resources for amateur and professional astronomers challenged by less than ideal viewing conditions, or those who are visually impaired or blind. If you came across this site while searching for www.cloudynights.com, which is an excellent site for articles and reviews of telescopes and accessories please click on the link above and you will be redirected there.

The name
of this site was inspired by my interest in astronomy
and my two Maine Coon cats Cloudy
and Midnight,
both of whom died in the Fall of 2005. They were my friends and I miss
them. I
hope that this site will not only be a tribute to my two friends, but
will also help people with an interest in astronomy.
It is my intent to not only list astronomy related links, but also meteorological links and computer resources that will be of benefit to other astronomers. Eventually I will incorporate an image site featuring pictures from amateur astronomers. If you have any suggestions, thoughts, or comments, please feel free to send me an email and check the site blog for the latest site news and updates. Cloudymidnights now has a sister site on Google Pages, check it out.
Take care and happy star gazing - Jim Cox, Bellevue, WA.
I currently moderate a group on Yahoo called NW Astronomers for those amateur and professional astronomers living in the Pacific Northwest. If you are interested, please feel free to join.
